Clubspot supports the use of BBPOS WisePOS E countertop card readers with the PoS application. This article walks you through the steps to setup the card reader and begin taking transactions.
Unbox the card reader and put the battery into the back of the device. You may have to pull fairly hard to get the cover off of the reader so that you can insert the battery. Plug in the card reader using the power cord. Make sure to plug the power cord into the side with the power icon and NOT the headphone jack.
Turn the card reader on by holding the power button on the right-hand side of the reader (you may have to hold for about 5 seconds). To open the settings menu, swipe right from the left edge of the reader screen to reveal a Settings button. Tap the Settings button and enter the admin PIN 07139
. From here, you can update your WiFi settings or generate a pairing code for device registration. Battery status is displayed at the top right of this screen. To close the settings menu, click the back arrow in the top left corner.
In the settings on the card reader, select “Generate pairing code” to create a code that consists of three random words, linked together by dashes.
In the Clubspot dashboard go to “Point of Sale” → “Settings” → “Readers.”
Click on [+New Reader] in the upper right-hand corner and enter a name for the new reader.
Enter the registration code (including the dashes) and hit done. Once paired the reader will go through about 20 minutes of software updates and will land on the home page when ready.
When checking out in the POS app, select “Card Reader,” and hit “Connect Now” or “Switch Readers” to begin using the new card reader! The last used card reader will default to the reader for that POS user.
