Here are some basic troubleshooting tricks to hopefully help reset your BBPOS WisePOS™ E card reader!

Troubleshooting Tips

  1. Short press the on-button. The status light should cycle through blue, green, red indicating the reader is on. If the device is not responding, please proceed to the next step.
  2. Long press the on-button, then short press the on-button. The status light should cycle through blue, green, and red indicating the reader is on. If the device is not responding, please proceed to the next step.
  3. Check to see if the reader is charged. Go ahead and plug the device into the charging cable; if the status light on the device is red, that means the device is charging. Once the light changes to green, that means the device is fully charged, and you're good to retry the aforementioned troubleshooting steps. If no luck, please proceed to the next step.
  4. Try charging with a different micro-USB cable, power cube, and outlet. If no luck still, please proceed to the next step.
  5. Use a paperclip to reset the device using the reset button at the bottom of the device, and repeat steps 1-4.

If you have completed all of the troubleshooting steps, and the device is still not powering on, please send [email protected] the following information:

  1. Serial numbers on the back of the device
  2. The shipping address (in case we need to ship a replacement device)
